Let's get it started....

So it seems everyone I know has a blog these days...except me. I started thinking on the way home from school last night, "What could I possibly write about?" and "What on earth would I name it?" I came to the conclusion that my life in the last almost 12 years has been full of surprises, ups, and downs. Thanks to the United States Air Force. I enlisted in January of 2000 and left for Basic Training in April of that same year. My life was forever changed. I've lost most of my friends from my life "before", but what I've gained is irreplaceable.

Now I sit here, medically retired for almost 3 years and I laugh at how different life is as a dependant than how it was as an Active Duty member. My husband has been serving our wonderful country for over 14 years and I now have the privilege to be an Air Force wife. For those that knew me before this transition, you know how much I truly loved my job (even on days when I swore I hated it), and what my opinion of the "wives" was (easy to judge when not in the shoes, let me tell you!). I do however have the distinct privilege of knowing what it's like now.... On both sides of the duffel bag...

And so my blog is born....
